No prior approval required by students from other boards to join CBSE schools

The Central Council for Secondary Education (CBSE) has decided that no prior approval will be required by Council students to apply for admission to CBSE-affiliated schools.

The decision came as many students studying abroad in foreign councils are joining CBSE-affiliated schools in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.

Previously, admissions were granted to students of other commissions on the basis of the class equivalence of the two commissions.

In the post-pandemic period, many families are moving to India for various reasons and as a result, many students studying abroad are joining CSBE-affiliated schools, the leading educational body said in a statement.
