Noida News: The government of Uttar Pradesh has suspended Noida’s deputy labor commissioner following a corruption complaint against him by foreign investors.
The action was taken after an investigation recommended disciplinary action against the officer. A Japanese company had accused Dharmendra Kumar Singh of corruption. Reports suggest that the complaint was filed in Lucknow by a senior executive of the company following an investigation conducted by a two-member investigative body.
The company has an office in Greater Noida. In its complaint, the company alleged that the deputy labor commissioner asked a senior executive of the company to meet his subordinate when he went to Singh’s office.
The complaint also stated that the deputy labor commissioner had been involved in corrupt practices. In the preliminary investigation, the official was found guilty and action was taken within three days.
The move comes ahead of the state government’s investor freeze to attract foreign investment. The government of Uttar Pradesh is organizing a three-day investor summit from February 10 to 12.
