Odisha to hire 7,540 teachers in government secondary schools

To ensure quality school education, the government of Odisha announced Friday to fill 7,540 teacher vacancies in several state secondary schools.

The government led by CM Naveen Patnaik has ordered the Odisha Staff Selection Commission to begin the recruitment process as soon as possible, the statement from the Chief Minister’s Office said.

The recruitment process will fill vacancies in approximately 4,848 state colleges, according to CMO.

With a large number of teacher vacancies, vacancies from TGT (Art), TGT (PCM & CBZ), Sanskrit, Hindi, Urdu, Telugu and Physical Education Teachers will be filled in the recruitment process.

The government is also committed to improving the education system by transforming a maximum number of schools. Currently, the government has set a target of transforming 4,800 more Odisha schools by December 2023.

More than 13 thousand messages filled in 2021-22

In the two selection processes that took place last year, about 13 thousand teachers were recruited and appointed to various government schools. The state government is aggressively working to improve its education infrastructure and system under the 5T initiative.

Under the 5T initiative, the government will focus on 5Ts, namely teamwork, technology, transparency, transformation and time limit. The progress of the modernization of education is measured against these five factors. Currently, the 5T initiative has been implemented in schools of the Higher Education Department. The initiative will help schools build much-needed educational infrastructure to improve their educational offerings.

Under the initiative, the government is focusing on transforming schools so that students can reap the benefits of modern education. Under the 5T initiatives, government schools are being facilitated with computers, internet, e-libraries, advanced playground equipment and playgrounds and other facilities are being developed.

By ensuring a fair focus on facilities and teachers, the state government has stepped up the recruitment program under the 5T initiative. The CMO also said that the vacancies of different departments are filled by following full transparency to provide equal opportunities.
