Authorities say one person was arrested after Los Angeles County Sheriff’s officers were shot at late Friday afternoon in East LA.
Deputies were fired upon after responding to a call for help at 4:50 p.m. on the 4200 block of Fisher Street, said Deputy Alejandra Parra, a spokesman for the LA County Sheriff’s Department.
The deputies were responding to a report of an attack with a deadly weapon, said deputy Veronica Fantom, another spokesperson for the department.
Deputies did not open fire during the incident, Fantom said.
Authorities have established a containment zone and detained one person at 6:15 p.m., she said.
The containment will remain in place for an unknown duration.
