Open Class EOC Prices Peak in 6 Years, Breaking S $ 70,000


SINGAPORE: Certificate of Eligibility (COE) premiums closed in a mixed fashion in the last bidding exercise on Wednesday September 22, with open category prices exceeding S $ 70,000 for the first time since 2015 .

The latest premium for the open-class COE (Cat E), which is primarily used for larger cars, closed at S $ 70,002, a jump of 8.2% from the last tender.

Premiums for Class B cars, or those over 1,600 cc or 130 hp, increased by more than 9% to reach S $ 68,310.

Class A prices (up to 1,600 cc and 130 hp) closed at S $ 48,000, compared to S $ 47,000 last year.

COEs for commercial vehicles, which include commercial vehicles and buses, fell to S $ 39,000 from S $ 40,001 in the previous tender.

Motorcycle premiums closed at S $ 9,089, compared to S $ 9,689 last year.

A total of 3,490 offers were received, with a quota of 2,342 COEs available.
