The Osun State House of Assembly adopted the reports of its parliamentary finance and ownership committee on the presentation of the Medium Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) 2022-2024.
The report which was adopted in the House plenary on Tuesday was presented by the Chairman of the House of Assembly Finance and Appropriations Committee Taiwo Adebayo Olodo.
After a motion presented by House Majority Leader Maroof Olanrewaju and seconded by the Chairman of the House Finance and Appropriations Committee Taiwo Adebayo Olodo, the report of the document submitted by the committee was also ratified and approved by the House of Assembly.
In his remarks, Osun House Chairman Timothy Owoeye said the MTEF explained the government’s financial goals and described it as the state’s economic projection for spending for the year.
Owoeye noted that the report of the House of Assembly Finance and Appropriations Committee on the presentation of the Medium Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) 2022-2024, Economic and Budget Update (EFU), of the Fiscal Strategy Paper (FSP) and the Fiscal Policy Statement (BPS) came at the right time.
The president also asked the Osun Internal Revenue Service (OIRS) to provide the House of Assembly with the revenue generated in the past six months within seven days.
He called on the state governor, Adegboyega Oyetola, to table the estimated 2022 state budget in the House of Assembly.
