PA Election Results: John Fetterman Projected Next Senator


PHILADELPHIA (TBEN) — TBEN News is Projecting John Fetterman as the winner of one of the most controversial Senate in the country races. The United States Senate race in Pennsylvania is one of the most watched races in the entire country.

At the latest check, live results showed Democrat John Fetterman leading Republican Mehmet Oz, with about 90% of the vote counted.

According to the TBEN News poll, abortion was arguably the most important topic in this race. Pennsylvania is one of the few states on the Senate battlefield where abortion surpasses inflation as the number one issue for voters.

dr. Oz made the comment during the debate that local elected officials should be involved in abortion decisions, while Fetterman has been unashamedly pro-choice.

His supporters celebrated at his headquarters in Pittsburgh.

When TBEN News made the projection around 1 a.m. Wednesday, with about 90% of the state’s votes in, Fetterman tweeted, “It’s official. I’ll be the next U.S. Senator from Pennsylvania. We’re betting on the people of Pennsylvania – and you did” don’t let us down And I won’t let you down. Thank you.’

He followed up on that tweet by personally thanking some of his supporters late at night.

Meanwhile, his opponent, Dr. Mehmet Oz, to an audience at his Bucks County campaign headquarters before the race was called.

He thanked his supporters and did not give in.

More than $300 million was spent on this race, making it the most expensive by-election ever for a U.S. Senate seat.

Joe Calvello, Fetterman’s communications director, tweeted Wednesday morning that Dr. Oz called at 9:30 a.m. to admit, but an official statement from the Oz campaign has not yet been released.

In the rest of the country, some Senate races are too close to mention.
