PAK vs ENG: ‘Itne Selfish Players’: Shaheen Afridi’s sarcastic tweet about Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan after Pakistan victory goes viral


Shaheen Afridi fired back at critics from Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan after their stunning 203 run unbeaten partnership against England in the second T20I, which helped Pakistan win by ten wickets.

Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan starred for Pakistan against England in the second Twenty20 International of the seven-match series on Thursday (September 22). The pair made a continuous 203 runs for the first wicket, allowing Pakistan to win by 10 wickets.

Pakistan recovered from England’s six-wicket loss in the first Twenty20 international of the seven-game run in Karachi by beating the visitors ten wickets in the second game on Thursday (September 22) to tie the series. Without losing a wicket, the hosts scored 200 runs to reach their goal in 19.3 overs.

Mohammad Rizwan, the hitting partner of the Men in Green, finished undefeated on 88 runs from 51 balls, while captain Babar Azam scored a continuous 110 runs from 66 balls.

Babar has been a bit out of it since the start of the Asian Cup, but on Thursday he cleared all doubts about his form and hitting speed by putting in an incredible performance. He hit 11 fours and five fives during his time at plate, scoring runs with a strike rate of 166.67.

After their innings, Pakistani leading bowler Shaheen Afridi responded to critics with a vicious jab as he defended his colleagues.

“I think it’s time to get rid of Kaptaan @babarazam258 and @iMRizwanPak. They are selfish players. Agar sahi se khelte to match with 15 overs me finish hojana chahye tha. Ye akhri about tak le gaye. Let’s make this a movement. Nah? Absolutely proud of this great Pakistani team,” Shaheen Afridi tweeted.

“Absolutely proud of this great Pakistani team,” Shaheen Afridi wrote further.

Shaheen’s last Pakistani appearance was in the first Test of a two-game series against Sri Lanka in July in Galle. He sustained an injury while fielding the game and has since been eliminated. Given that he was chosen for the team’s 15-man roster for the T20 World Cup, he is expected to make a comeback there.
