PALMDALE (TBEN) – A man was arrested on Tuesday after several witnesses saw him act in what was an alleged kidnapping attempt – of his next door neighbor.
The man, whose identity has not yet been released, reportedly stood in his driveway when he grabbed the eight-year-old and ran over his shoulder. The boy was walking home from school with his cousin when the attempt to take the child by force occurred.
The boy started kicking and screaming, which alerted his parents, who looked out the window and saw the man drop their son and run into his garage. He suffered no injuries.
Several other witnesses say they saw the incident.
Deputy Ronald Sneed of the Palmdale Sheriff’s Station reported that deputies from the Los Angles County Sheriff’s Department arrived at the suspect’s home around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, surrounding the property. They ordered the suspect out, which he eventually did, where he was arrested for suspected kidnapping.
There is no known motive for the attempted kidnapping.
