Mate Pavic and Bruno Soares clinched the first FedEx ATP Doubles team ranking at the end of the year after a good end to the 2020 season. Two years ago Pavic finished in first place with Oliver Marach, while Soares s’ teamed up with Jamie Murray in 2016 to become the # 1 year-end team.
The Croatian-Brazilian squad, which rounded out the Bob Bryan squad this week with a 2-1 record at O2 London, was assured of the # 1 end of year when Jurgen Melzer and Edouard Roger-Vasselin took beaten on Saturday Rajeev Ram and Joe Salisbury. in the semi-finals of the Nitto ATP final. Pavic and Soares entered the season finale just 35 points ahead of Ram and Salisbury, second in the FedEx ATP Doubles team standings.
Pavic and Soares, who compiled a 4-5 game record this season ahead of the five-month TBEN suspension, came back strong to win their first tag team trophy of the Grand Slam Championship in September at the US Open (d.
