PM Modi to commemorate Sardar Patel’s birthday as National Unity Day on October 31


Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend various events this week in Kevadia, Gujarat to celebrate Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s birthday as National Unity Day.

Modi will offer floral tributes to the “ Statue of Unity ” to Kevadia, administer the “ Ekta Pledge ” and attend the “ Ekta Diwas Parade ” on the occasion of Patel’s birthday on the October 31, the prime minister’s office said in a statement.

It will also inaugurate various projects, including a seaplane service linking the “Statue of Unity” on the banks of the Sabarmati River to Ahmedabad.

The statement released by the Prime Minister’s Office mentioned that Modi will be leaving the Ekta Cruise Service to the Unity Statue, the Ekta Shopping Center Grand Opening and the Child Nutrition Park.

The Ekta Cruise Service involves viewing the Unity Statue via the ferry service from Shrestha Bharat Bhavan to the Unity Statue by traveling a distance of six kilometers.

The 40-minute journey can be covered by a boat that can carry 200 passengers at a time. The new Gora Bridge is built especially for the operation of the ferry service.

The Children’s Nutrition Park is the world’s first technology-driven children’s nutrition park and spans an area of ​​35,000 square feet. A Nutri train runs through the park to various exciting theme stations, namely Phalshaka Griham ‘, Payonagari’, Annapoorna ‘, Poshan Puran’ and Swastha Bharatam ‘, the statement said.

Meanwhile, Ekta Mall will showcase a diverse range of crafts and traditional items from across India symbolizing unity in diversity and spanning 35,000 square feet.

The Prime Minister will also unveil the seaplane service connecting the Statue of Unity to Kevadia at Sabarmati Riverfront in Ahmedabad.

The Gujarat state government had announced that seaplane service in the state would start from October 31 – the anniversary of Sardar Vallabhai Patel’s birth.

The first flight will take off from Sabarmati Riverfront in Ahmedabad to the Statue of Unity in Kevadia settlement in Narmada district.

“The very first seaplane services in Gujarat will provide seamless and affordable air connectivity from Sabarmati Riverfront, Ahmedabad to Statue of Unity, Kevadia,” a Gujrati government statement said.

The seaplane will be operated by the private airline SpiceJet. The seaplane can accommodate 12 passengers.

“There will be four flights a day between Ahmedabad and Kevadia on each side – which means four arrivals and four departures. The price of the ticket per person will be around Rs 4,800.

It should be noted that taking the seaplane will significantly reduce the travel time between Ahmedabad and Kevadia, which currently takes around four hours one way.

The seaplane ride will take about an hour, according to a Gujarat government official.

Modi will also speak to Indian Civil Service probationers at the National Academy of Administration Lal Bahadur Shastri (LBSNAA), Mussoorie, through a videoconference from Kevadia.

This is part of the integrated core “ Aarambh ” course launched in 2019, the statement said.

Aarambh aims to empower officials to lead transformation and work seamlessly across departments and domains.
