Hamisu, who reported the case to the police, was asked to play with the suspect who asked him to deposit the ransom of 2 million naira in one place, if he wants to save his family from kidnapping.
Unbeknownst to him, the police had cordoned off the area, patiently waiting for the suspect to come and get the ransom which when he appeared was a cripple crawling on his knees and buttocks.
As soon as he took the ransom, the police rushed at him and arrested him before he could vanish into thin air.

“On August 20, he sent a threatening message to a certain Hamisu Salisu, who is also from Kankia LGA, and demanded a ransom of 2 million naira or be kidnapped.
“During the investigation, the victim reported to the Kankia Police Division where the preliminary investigation led to the arrest of this suspect.

“We successfully planned and took the money to the spot and after depositing the money with our men who were hanging out in the area, luckily we saw this gentleman crawling and he went to get the money. Then our men arrested him and he was arrested ”, SP. said Isah Gambo.
During questioning, Buhari confessed to the crime although he claimed it was only his first time.
SP Gambo, however, said it would make for the third time a cripple involved in a case of kidnapping and banditry-related offense.
SP Gambo, while speaking to reporters from the Police Command, advised the family of the kidnapped victims to exercise caution and avoid panicking and rushing to pay a ransom as criminals are now taking advantage of the security concerns prevalent in the state to extort their hard-earned money from people. .
