Police in Bay of Plenty are asking for the public’s help to locate a vehicle of interest, after a woman was severely assaulted in Te Puke.
The woman was found injured on Te Matai Road shortly after midnight yesterday.
Detective Inspector Craig Rawlinson said a silver Honda Stream, registration HNP55, had been seen in the area around the time of the attack and was of interest to investigators.

“We are asking for the public’s help in locating this striking vehicle,” he said.
“The vehicle is distinctive; it has a black hood, magnetic wheels, a rear spoiler and a large dent on the left rear door.”
Rawlinson said the vehicle may have been parked in the Te Puke or Western Bay of Plenty area.
Police also wanted to get in touch with anyone who may have witnessed the report.
