New Delhi:

Congresswoman Priyanka Gandhi Vadra attacked Yogi Adityanath’s government in Uttar Pradesh over poisonous alcohol deaths and asked why the state dispensation failed to act against the Mafia in the alcohol.

At least seven people have died and several others have been hospitalized after allegedly drinking poisonous alcohol in a village in Prayagraj on Friday, police said.

“There have been deaths from toxic alcohol in Lucknow, Firozabad, Hapur, Mathura, Prayagraj, as well as other places in Uttar Pradesh. Previously there had been deaths from alcohol toxic to Agra, Bagpat and Meerut, ”Priyanka Gandhi said in a Hindi tweet.


“What is the reason that, other than a few pretentious measures, the government has not been able to take action against the toxic liquor mafia? Who is responsible?” she asked.
