The Youth League of Nations of Biafra, BNYL, has criticized the dissolution of the special anti-theft brigade, SARS, by the inspector general of police, IGP Mohammed Adamu.
BNYL said it fully supports calls from some northern groups for the transfer of SARS to the North.
BNYL National Chief Princewill Chimezie Richard, in a statement to DAILY POST on Sunday, said the Inspector General would be appreciated if he deployed SARS to Borno to fight Boko Haram instead of dismantling the unit.
“Transferring SARS to the North, especially Borno, would have been the best decision to take, they had to engage Boko Haram, only then will they understand that Kaki No Be Leather.”
BNYL said the End SARS protest is not the solution to police brutality, adding that the military has abandoned its external duty and is now doing the job of the police.
The Biafra group said Nigerians should drop the SARS protest and start protesting for the end of Nigeria.
“It will be wiser for Nigerians to start demonstrating for #EndNigeria and not to end SARS.”
