The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives announced its provision of food support to those affected by the repercussions of the exceptional climatic situation that dominated the eastern regions of the country during the past week, represented by providing 50,000 food parcels and 10,000 ration cards to those affected, especially workers.

The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, in coordination with the Emirates Food Bank and the Fujairah Charitable Society, provides direct support to families and individuals affected by the repercussions of the exceptional rainfall in the Eastern Region, especially in Fujairah, which recorded the highest amount of rain that fell on the country during the month of July in 27 years.

The initiative provides relief support in two forms; Where it provides 10,000 ration cards that enable its holders to shop the basic items they need in specific stores, while the second formula provides support to affected individuals and workers in the form of food baskets of 50,000 food baskets.

The urgent support initiative is integrated with volunteer initiatives, contribution to charitable and humanitarian works, and pioneering community work among individuals and institutions in the UAE, who have been keen during the past period to quickly reach all forms of support and assistance to those affected by the record rains witnessed in the regions of the country.

The “Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives”, which was established in 2015, represents a supportive umbrella for a group of initiatives and institutions launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. Today, it includes dozens of initiatives and institutions that implement charitable work programmes. and humanitarian within five main axes: humanitarian and relief aid, health care and disease control, dissemination of education and knowledge, innovation of the future and leadership, and empowerment of societies, in a way that supports institutional humanitarian work, achieves its sustainability and expands its positive impact, establishes a culture of hope in the region and the world and contributes to achieving the desired development for the future better.
