Punjab: Students Clash Over Eng vs Pak T20 World Cup Final, Multiple Injured


The grand final of the ICC T20 World Cup took place today (November 13) between England and Pakistan. While the whole country was glued to their TVs, students from Jammu and Kashmir and Bihar broke out in a fight in their college in Moga Punjab.

The fighting became so fierce that many students were injured by stone pelting. About 60-70 students watched the England-Pakistan match in their student hostel.

During the competition, the students had a heated discussion. The local police have arrived and the statements of the students are being recorded. The case is also under investigation. There are 900-1000 students in this college, of which about 500 are students from Jammu and Kashmir.

Primary research suggests the fight started when one section started chanting slogans against Pakistan, triggering the other section, according to Tribune reports. Kashmiri students reportedly supported Pakistan, while another group of students from Bihar and other states reportedly uttered slogans against Pakistan, resulting in the clash.

ICC T20 World Cup England defeated Pakistan

The final of the 2022 ICC T20 World Cup between England and Pakistan took place at Melbourne Cricket Ground. England emerged victorious by five wickets. As first batter, Pakistan gave England a goal of 138 runs. Ben Stokes played brilliant innings of 52 runs from England, with 5 fours and one six, while facing 49 runs in this match.
