Maddow said:
I want you to see it. In this interview, then-Congressman George Santos speaks to the host in Portuguese, so we’ve subtitled it. He starts talking about an alleged act of vandalism, which he says was directed against him simply because he is a Republican. But then he says, oh, someone tried to kill him too.
We’ve already suffered an attempt on my life, an assassination attempt. Was there really an assassination attempt? Then-Congressman George Santos did not elaborate on his claim in the interview.
Here is the screenshot with the English subtitle:
Kevin McCarthy thinks Eric Swalwell and Adam Schiff are unfit to serve on committees, but he gave George Santos two committee assignments.

It’s fun to laugh at Santos’ outrageous lies, and late-night comedians have a field day with him, but George Santos is a pathological liar who shouldn’t be in a position of power.
Having someone like Santos in Congress and on congressional committees is dangerous for the country.
If George Santos finds it so easy to lie and cheat, just imagine what he could do with national security information.
Santos’ casual lies make him dangerous.
