Raj Kundra breaks silence on arrest in porn case, says ‘truth will come out soon’

Shilpa Shetty’s businessman, Raj Kundra, has broken the silence on the alleged pornographic case and celebrated his release from the Arthur Road Jail. Raj wrote a note on his Twitter with a photo of him wearing a wide-glass hoodie and a face mask.

On his Twitter, Raj wrote his feelings on the matter and even advised trolls to “shut up.” Kundra wrote: “One year today released from #ArthurRoad It’s only a matter of time justice will be done! The truth will come out soon! Thanks best wishes and a bigger thanks to the trollers you make me stronger #enquiry #word #mediatrial #trolling.”

For the inexperienced, the businessman was booked under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, the Prevention of Indecent Women Act, and the Information Technology Act for allegedly distributing/sending sexually explicit videos. Fearing arrest, Kundra first requested anticipatory bail from a hearing court, but this was denied, so he moved to Bombay High Court, claiming he had been framed. The HC also rejected his anticipatory bail application on Nov. 25. The FIR had also named actors Sherlyn Chopra and Poonam Pandey as co-defendants. Kundra’s lawyers claimed that he was in no way involved in creating, publishing or transmitting content of allegedly illegal videos, even though the actors, who were named as co-defendants, had given full permission to make the videos.

The 46-year-old businessman spent two months in the Arthur Road prison in central Mumbai under judicial custody. After spending 60 days in judicial custody. Raj was released on bail by metropolitan magistrate SB Bhajipale on Monday, September 21. The magistrate allowed Kundra’s bail application after providing a bail of Rs 50,000. The Supreme Court granted Kundra protection from arrest in connection with an FIR registered against him for allegedly distributing pornographic videos.
