Redmi Note 8 (2021) specifications tilted via FCC listing


The specifications for Redmi Note 8 (2021) have appeared online via an FCC listing. While Xiaomi has already launched the Redmi Note 10 series in the Indian market, it is looking to refresh a few older handsets with new specifications. A new Redmi Note 8 (2021) has reportedly been spotted on several certification sites like FCC and EEC, hinting that it could be a work in progress. Major specs for the phone have also been leaked online through social media tipsters. Redmi Note 8 (2021) is said to be powered by the MediaTek Helio G85 SoC.

XDA developers’ Kacper Skrzypek took Twitter to share that a new Xiaomi handset with model number M1908C3JGG has been spotted on the FCC certification site. This model number is associated with Redmi Note 8 (2021), the tipster later added, citing “one of the Xiaomi pages”. The FCC listing states that the phone can be powered by MediaTek Helio G85 SoC, contains 4000mAh battery, and runs on MIUI 12.5. The same model number was also spotted on the European EEC certification.

Tipster Xiaomiui continues to Tweeter that Redmi Note 8 (2021) will not launch in India, Indonesia and Turkey. Its code name is expected to be Biloba and will likely launch in global, EEA and Russian markets. Leaky specs, the tipster further reiterates that Redmi Note 8 (2021) can be powered by MediaTek Helio G85 SoC and hold 4000mAh battery. The phone is said to offer 22.5W fast charging support.

There should be a quad-camera setup on the back of Redmi Note 8 (2021) which will likely include a 48-megapixel main sensor, an ultra-wide sensor, another depth sensor, and a tele-macro lens. Redmi Note 8 (2021) is supposed to offer a Full HD + display with a screen refresh rate of 60Hz, although Xiaomiui as well Point 120Hz refresh rate benchmarks as well. It will likely have a teardrop-style notch, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB and 128GB storage options. Connectivity options are slanted to include 802.11 ac Wi-Fi and Bluetooth v5.
