Redmi Watch India launch date set for May 13, Xiaomi teases


Redmi Watch will launch in India alongside the Redmi Note 10S on May 13, Xiaomi announced on Tuesday via its social media channels. The smartwatch under the Redmi brand debuted in China in November last year. It comes with a square shaped dial and offers up to 12 days of battery life on a single charge. The Redmi watch also includes 24×7 heart rate monitoring. Notably, the Redmi Watch was launched as the Mi Watch Lite for some global markets last year in December.

Xiaomi posted a teaser video on Redmi India’s Twitter account to suggest the launch of the Redmi Watch in the country. The video gives us a glimpse of the smartwatch from one side and shows its wrist strap. The Chinese company also sent an email to the media to announce the launch of the new Redmi product category alongside the debut of Redmi Note 10S. The email also includes an image suggesting the upcoming launch of the Redmi Watch.

While Xiaomi has yet to explicitly confirm the launch of the Redmi Watch in India, a listing apparently appeared on the Bureau of Indian Standards website in January also suggested official approvals for the Mi Watch Lite, which is essentially rebranded as the Redmi Watch. .

Redmi Watch price in India (expected)

The price of the Redmi Watch in India has yet to be announced. But the smartwatch launched in China at CNY 299 (around Rs.3,400) and its price in India is probably closer to the Chinese version. The Redmi watch debuted in China in sleek black, ink blue, and ivory white, and its strap color options included cherry blossom, sleek black, ink blue, and ivory white.

The Redmi watch comes with a 1.4-inch square display (320×320 pixels) with a pixel density of 323ppi. The screen is protected by 2.5D curved glass. The smartwatch includes NFC support for on-the-go payments and an optical sensor for continuous heart rate monitoring. It also features a built-in six-axis accelerometer and geomagnetic sensor for activity tracking.

Xiaomi has provided seven sport modes on the Redmi watch. These include outdoor cycling, indoor cycling, running, treadmill, walking and swimming. The smartwatch is compatible with Android and iOS devices and packs a 230mAh battery which is said to provide up to 12 days of use.
