Renault India has raised the prices of the Kiger Subcompact SUV to Rs. 33,000
Renault India has quietly increased the prices of the Kiger subcompact SUV, which range from ₹ 3,000 to ₹ 33,000, depending on the variant. The French automaker has updated the new SUV prices on its official website. We have contacted the company for an official statement, but at the time of this story’s publication, our email to Renault has gone unanswered. The SUV was launched in the Indian market in February with a starting price of ₹ 5.45 lakh, going up to ₹ 9.55 lakh (old showroom, Delhi).

Note that the prices of the base RXE Energy MT, RXT Turbo CVT and RXZ Turbo CVT remain unchanged. Expect these variants, all variants have seen an upward revision including the two-tone models. The price of the SUV is now in the range of ₹ 5.45 lakh, going up to ₹ 9.75 lakh (old Delhi showroom).
The Renault Kiger is based on the company’s CMF-A + platform, which shares its foundations with the Renault Triber MPV as well as its cousin, the subcompact SUV Nissan Magnite. The Kiger is available in four trim options – RXE, RXL, RXT and RXZ. The SUV competes with Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Mahindra XUV300, Ford EcoSport, Tata Nexon and its cousin, Nissan Magnite.

The subcompact SUV is available in two gasoline engines and three transmission choices. This includes 1.0-liter atmospheric Energy gasoline and 1.0-liter turbocharged gasoline. The former is tuned to produce 71bhp and 96Nm of peak torque and is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox and AMT unit. The latter makes 98 hp and 160 Nm of peak torque. This is the same engine that powers the Nissan Magnite. It is paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox or CVT automatic transmission.
