Leena Acharya’s death came as a shock to many. The actor, who was in his thirties, died of kidney failure and had battled the disease for almost two years. Several TV celebrities and Leena’s co-stars visited their social media pages and mourned her death. The deceased actor had shared screen space with Rohan Mehra in Class of 2020 and he shared a clicked photo in 2019.
Rohan wrote: “Rest in peace @ leena_acharya20 ma’am. Last year this time we were filming for the class of 2020. I will miss you.”
While Leena’s Seth Ji Co-star Worship Khanna shared a photo from the show with her and captioned it, saying, “It’s sad when the person who gave you memories becomes one. RIP.”
He also told The The Bharat Express News: “The actress had suffered from kidney disease for a year and a half. Her mother donated her kidney some time ago, but she did not survive. In 2015, I had the opportunity to work with Leena Ji. She played my onscreen mother in Seth Ji. I played the role of Ganesh Rao, a Maharashtrian. I would call her Maeri instead of Maa. We shared one Very strong bond. Being single and alone in Mumbai, she would go get me some food and say “Betu khaana kha le.” She was a very funny person. “
Abhishek Gautam, actor and screenwriter wrote on his Facebook page: “My good friend and great artist Leena Acharya, who would always stand up for others, has said goodbye to this world and I have lost a good friend. You will always be missed, my friend. “

While Abhishek Bhalerao took to his Twitter page and shared a screenshot of the WhatsApp conversation he had with Leena. He wrote: “May your soul rest in power. An amazing actress, a con artist, who applied and went regularly to every audition I would share with her. A beautiful soul.”
