RK Shishir Bag Top Position in IIT Entrance Exam JEE-Advanced Exam


RK Shishir from Bombay zone has achieved top rank in IIT JEE Advanced entrance exam announced on Sunday. Shishir got 314 out of 360 points. Tanishka Kabra from the Delhi zone is the best among the females with 277 points. Her all-India rank is 16, according to IIT Bombay, who took the exam.

“RK Shishir of the IIT Bombay zone is the top tier in the Common Rank List (CRL). He got 314 points out of 360. Tanishka Kabra of the IIT Delhi zone is the top ranked female with CRL 16. She got 277 points out of 360,” said a senior IIT Bombay official.

More than 1.5 lakh candidates appeared for the exam and more than 40,000 qualified. the official continued.

Shishir is followed by Polu Lakshmi Sai Lohith Reddy and Thomas Biju Cheeramvelil in second and third place.

Others in the top 10 are: Vangapalli Sai Siddhartha, Mayank Motwani, Polisetty Karthikeya, Pratik Sahoo, Dheeraj Kurukunda, Mahit Gadhiwala and Vetcha Gnana Mahesh.

“The total is calculated as a sum of grades obtained in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. Candidates must obtain both subject-matter and overall qualifications to be included in the ranking,” said the IIT Bombay official.

JEE-Main, the admission test for engineering colleges across the country, is the qualifying exam for JEE-Advanced.

A total of 16,598 seats are up for grabs in all 23 IITs this year, including 1,567 excess seats for female candidates. This represents a marginal increase in the number of seats compared to last year.
