For his debut as a director Lucifer, Prithviraj Sukumaran showed Mohanlal’s towering personality on the big screen which left an impressive mark on everyone. Now the tables are turned, as Mohanlal sits in the director’s chair for Barroz and has Prithiviraj in a central role. After confirming her presence in the film, Prithvi kicked off shooting the film and shared a photo of the sets on her social media pages.
In the photo, Prithviraj is seen sitting on a chair while director Mohanlal tells him about a scene. The two have an intense discussion and it is indeed a perfect time. Prithvi shared the photo with a caption that read “#Barroz @mohanlal”.

According to reports in The Quint, Prithviraj confirmed his role in Barroz stating, “The film is one of a kind … But at the end of the day it all comes down to someone spending money and showing conviction.”
Barroz: Nidhi Kaakkum Bhootham is based on the novel titled Barroz: Keeper of D ‘Gama’s Treasure written by Jijo Punnoose. The film stars Mohanlal in the lead role alongside Shayla McCaffrey, Sara Vega and Rafael Amargo.
Barroz is a 3D movie and filming started on March 24, 2021. A huge event took place ahead of the filming which involved Mammootty, Priyadarshan among other Malayalam celebrities.
It was in 2019 that Mohanlal announced his directorial debut and fans have been sharing the excitement since then.
Meanwhile, Prithviraj will soon be directing the sequel to Lucifer titled L2: Empuraan.
