Actor Scarlett Johansson is one of Hollywood’s best-known superheroes, but did you know she hasn’t been a fan of the genre for a very long time? In an interviewin 2019, Scarlett revealed how she found a new interest in superhero movies after watching 2008’s Iron Man.
Scarlett played Natasha Romanoff in several Marvel movies such as Iron Man 2, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Avengers, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame. However, it was Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man that inspired her to be part of the Marvel family.
“I just loved it. I had never really seen anything like it before. It wasn’t particularly that I was a fan of superhero stuff, or that sort of thing, but it seemed revolutionary, ” the 35-year-old said. I wanted to work with Marvel. It seemed like an exciting place, ”she told Vanity Fair last year. Even in 2010, when she became a part of Iron Man 2, she said, “I was a huge fan of the first movie and I was pretty geeky about being a part of the second. I just wanted to be a part of Iron Man so I really did some research on the comics and came up with my own ideas on how to develop the character. I see her as determined and ambitious.
Scarlett was cast for the role after her rejection by Emily Blunt. But for Scarlett, being the second choice wasn’t a problem. “The best call you can get is after you’ve been turned down for something, then you get it. You like it more. I basically made a career out of being the second choice, ”she told Parade magazine earlier this year.

Scarlett’s solo Marvel film Black Widow was slated for release this year but has been delayed indefinitely due to the coronavirus pandemic. The film also stars Florence Pugh, David Harbor and Rachel Weisz. The actor is also experiencing new beginnings in his personal life. She recently tied the knot with her longtime boyfriend, SNL’s Colin Jost in a small private ceremony.
