The winning numbers for the Wednesday night Powerball draw have been released. And lottery players check their tickets.
Powerball’s estimated jackpot rose to $439 million, with a $237.3 million cash option, for Wednesday’s drawing.
According to Powerball, no one has won the game’s top prize since Nov. 19, causing the jackpot to keep increasing over the past few months. The odds of winning a Powerball jackpot remain extremely small and are approximately 1 in 292.2 million.
Wednesday night’s drawing follows several historic lottery wins the US has seen in recent months:

How do I play Powerball?
To enter Powerball, players select five numbers from one to 69 for the white balls and one number from one to 26 for the red Powerball. You can choose numbers yourself or let the lottery terminal choose randomly for you.
To win the jackpot, you must match the numbers of all five white balls and the red Powerball.
Aside from the main prize, depending on the number of balls that match, there are eight other ways you can win a Powerball prize in the non-jackpot levels of the game.

Non-jackpot prizes start at $4 and go up to $1 million. For an extra $1 you can sign up for “Powerplay” – which multiplies non-jackpot winning prizes by 2, 3, 4, 5 or 10. The 10X Powerplay is only available if the jackpot is $150 million or less, Powerball notes . The game’s “Match 5” second prize is capped at $2 million for the Powerplay.
An additional add-on feature called “Double Play,” which gives players another chance to match their numbers after each Powerball draw, is available in some jurisdictions for $1 per game.
