Shah Rukh Khan calls Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma after his ‘who is Shah Rukh’ statement amid Pathaan protests in the state


On Sunday, SRK called Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma and expressed concern about the ‘incident in Guwahati during the screening of his film’, a day after the latter’s comment ‘who is Shah Rukh Khan’. Biswa took to Twitter and informed the same.

CM Biswa tweeted: “Bollywood actor Shri @iamsrk called me and we talked at 2am today. He expressed concern about an incident in Guwahati during the screening of his film. I assured him that it is the duty of the state to maintain law and order. We will investigate and ensure that such unwanted incidents do not occur.”

For the inexperienced, according to the PTI report, Himanta Biswa Sarma said, “Khan has not called me, although many from Bollywood do, about the problem. But if he does, I will investigate the matter. Action will be taken taken if public order has been violated and a case has been filed.”

For the inexperienced, Bollywood megastar Shahrukh Khan and his film Pathaan have faced backlash for featuring Deepika Padukone in a saffron bikini in the song Besharam Rang. Many leaders, including those of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad, have demanded a ban on the film. When told by reporters that Khan is a Bollywood superstar, Sarma said that the people of the state should worry about Assamese and not Hindi movies.

The Siddharth Anand actor will hit theaters on January 25 in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
