On the 10th anniversary of the death of legendary cricketer Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi, his wife Sharmila Tagore and daughter Soha Ali Khan prayed at the grave of the late Nawab in Pataudi.
Speaking to Instagram, Soha, who currently spends time at her large ancestral property Pataudi Palace, posted photos in which she can be seen praying at the grave with her mother and baby daughter Inaaya.
The women are dressed in white because they fondly remember their beloved family member. “You never died for us until we forgot about you #inmemory # 10years,” Soha captioned.
Earlier, Soha took to her Instagram Stories and shared a photo of the prayer held in memory of her father. In the photo, Soha and her baby daughter Inaaya can be seen looking at the photo frames of the late Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi kept on a table. The prayer hall was decorated with lighted candles and a cricket bat. “Abba. 01.05.1941 – 09.22.2011”, Soha captioned the heartwarming message.
In another Instagram story, Soha shared a photo of her palace garden where Inaaya can be seen chasing after her grandmother, Sharmila Tagore, who is walking some distance away.
The cricketer’s eldest daughter, Saba Pataudi, also wrote a touching note on social media. “Abba ….. I miss you every day and I know you are watching over me. It doesn’t feel like a decade since you left us … only yesterday. You will remain in our hearts forever. I still love you, ”she wrote.
Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi, popularly known as Tiger Pataudi, was the youngest captain of the Indian cricket team in 1965 when he met actor Sharmila Tagore at a party in New Delhi. According to reports, the cricketer did his best to woo the Bollywood beauty for almost four years before deciding to tie the knot on December 29, 1969. The couple welcomed their son, actor Saif Ali Khan in 1970 , their daughter Saba, jewelry designer, in 1976 and actor Soha Ali Khan in 1978. Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi died on September 22, 2011 after battling a serious lung infection. He was 70 when he breathed his last.
