Solar panels explode on the roof of a shopping center – several tens of thousands of francs in damage

An employee at the Herlingen shopping center heard a bang at around 4 p.m. on Saturday, which emanated from the roof of the building. The fire brigade and police responded and found that part of the solar panels on the roof had exploded and been thrown out of their anchorage. No one was injured, according to the Schaffhausen police on Sunday.

Experts from the responsible energy supplier SHPower and solar specialists are now investigating the cause of the explosion. According to their own statements, the police definitely rule out incorrect manipulation or an act of sabotage. The extent of the damage is also still unclear.
