Siraj was last seen in action during the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The 26-year-old was part of the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) squad, praising his performance in a championship game against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). The stimulator picked three wickets while conceding 8 points, during his four-overs stretch in that game.
The Indian team’s tour of Australia includes three ODI matches, the same number of T20I matches and four tests. The first two ODIs will be held at the Sydney Cricket Ground, with the 50-player opener scheduled for November 27.
Opener Rohit Sharma will not be part of the limited part of the series, due to concerns about his overall physical form. Rohit suffered a hamstring injury during the IPL 2020 while representing the Indian champions Mumbai (MI).
Skipper Virat Kohli will return home after the first test, after having obtained paternity leave from BCCI.
