As it was reported last week that WWE had plans in place for the best matches at WrestleMania 37, with the exception of the WWE Title, there was speculation about WWE Champion Drew McIntyre during the ‘event.
Fast forward to Sunday’s Elimination Chamber pay-per-view event, The Miz cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase to beat McIntyre for the WWE title after McIntyre retained him in the Elimination Chamber main event.
Most fans speculated that The Miz wouldn’t defend the championship at WrestleMania 37 since plans call for him to compete in another high profile match. WrestleVotes reported today that the plan at this time is for Miz not to defend the WWE title at WrestleMania.
It was also noted that Bobby Lashley, who attacked McIntyre on Sunday’s show moments before Miz cashed in, would be in the title match at WrestleMania. The report did not indicate who Lashley would face at WrestleMania with the title on the line, but it appears to be McIntyre although this is not confirmed.
“It’s that time of year – A LOT of b / w misinformation, happening around WM. However, from source: WWE Title match- The Miz is not slated to be involved. As of now, Bobby Lashley IS. “
