Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju said on Saturday he had tested positive for COVID-19 but felt “fit and fine”.
The 49-year-old posted the development on his Twitter page.
“After undergoing repeated tests for Covid-19, today my report was positive,” Mr Rijiju wrote on his Twitter account.
After undergoing a repeat test for Covid-19, my report is now positive. I take the advice of doctors. I ask everyone who has come into my contact recently to be observant, to practice self-quarantine and to get tested. I am physically fit and well.

Mr Rijiju was in Uttarakhand on Friday to inaugurate a water sports and adventure institute in Tehri.
Chief State Minister Tirath Singh Rawat, who recently recovered from the dreaded infection, was with him at the dedication ceremony.
India is witnessing an unprecedented rise in COVID-19 cases with 234,692 new infections reported in the country on Tuesday, the largest daily spike to date.
