2021 Jeep Wrangler to launch in India on March 15, 2021
Taking its second step in the decentralization strategy for the Indian market, Stellantis India has started local assembly of the 2021 off-road Jeep Wrangler at its manufacturing facility in Ranjangaon, Maharashtra. The Wrangler will see a price reduction due to local assembly and updated pricing and technical specifications will be announced at market launch on March 15, 2021. Along with the rollout, the automaker has also started pre -bookings for the Wrangler 2021 at its 26 dealerships across the country.

Speaking about the deployment, Partha Datta – General Manager of Jeep India said: “Jeep has always represented the ultimate in capability and freedom in the open air, and we are extremely proud that our Made-in-India Wrangler protects this important heritage on the market. . The Jeep Wrangler is the second of four localized products that we have committed to launch in India. We wanted to make the world’s most recognized SUV even more accessible to our Indian customers and we are happy to be able to meet their aspirations. “
The 2021 India-made Jeep Wrangler arrives in India and is now assembled locally instead of being a Fully Built Unit (CBU). The iconic off-roader will be almost identical to the CBU model, but attract less taxation, with the benefit passed on to customers. The CBU version of the Wrangler is currently priced at ₹ 63.94 lakh (old showroom, India), and expect the same to drop by a substantial margin.
When it comes to features, the 2021 Jeep Wrangler comes with a number of upgrades while maintaining the iconic styling. The interior will receive a revised dashboard, a new 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system with UConnect, dual-zone automatic climate control, and more. The SUV also benefits from passive keyless entry as well as push-button start. The Indian-spec Wrangler is offered as a five-door and also has leather upholstery for the seats and soft-touch leather in the cabin.

Jeep India has yet to confirm the locally assembled Wrangler’s engine lineup. The company will continue to offer the 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine with 262 hp and 400 Nm of maximum torque, combined with the 8-speed automatic transmission. It will be interesting to see if the automaker also presents the diesel version this time around to take on the Mercedes-Benz G 350d and Land Rover Defender in the segment.
