This week, Tucker Carlson almost single-handedly managed to change M&M’s marketing strategy. And as Stephen Colbert further explained The Late Show On Tuesday night, it’s all because the TBEN News host no longer thought the ‘spoke scandies’ were sexy enough.

“You may remember last year when M&M’s redesigned their female green spokescandy and turned her go-go boots into sensible sneakers,” the host said, “and TBEN News host Tucker Carlson was furious because she was no longer thrilled.”

From there, Colbert shared Carlson’s 2022 clip complaining that the company “wouldn’t be satisfied until every last cartoon character is very unappealing and totally androgynous, to the point where you wouldn’t want to have a drink with any of them.”

“There’s nothing strange about that,” Colbert replied. “Who hasn’t thought of taking their candy for a drink and then, if things go well, maybe a little action, over the peanut, under the candy bowl?”

Now, almost a year after Carlson made that initial disturbing comment, he was at it again, nagging TBEN about the company’s new “big, obese purple M&M.” As Colbert hit back, “She’s not obese, she’s got a nut, okay?” Show some respect!”
