WWE has announced two new things for Wednesday’s episode of NXT.
First up, William Regal, Managing Director of NXT, today announced that the previously announced match between NXT Cruiserweight Champion Santos Escobar and Karrion Kross is now an untitled match without a DQ. The stipulation that if Escobar does not show up, he will be stripped of his title and suspended, still stands.
Regal sent the following:
“Considering the difference in each competitor’s ‘interest’ for their game, I decided to raise the stakes. @WWEKarrionKross vs @EscobarWWE will now be a #NoDQMatch and if our Cruiserweight Champion does not participate he will be stripped of his title and suspended. “
A segment was also announced today. Adam Cole will explain his recent actions against NXT Champion Finn Balor and Kyle O’Reilly.
Of course, Cole had attacked Balor after he managed to retain the NXT title against Pete Dunne last Sunday at NXT TakeOver: Vengeance Day. That same night, Cole also hit a superkick at O’Reilly.
Last week on NXT, WWE took an injury angle, which saw Cole hit a brainbuster at O’Reilly on the base of the steel steps. O’Reilly was put on a stretcher and rolled backstage at the arena, which raised concerns after a fan falsely claimed he was having a seizure. It wasn’t though, and O’Reilly is fine.
Considering the difference in the “interest” of each competitor for their game, I decided to raise the stakes. @WWEKarrionKross against @EscobarWWE will now be a #NoDQMatch & if our Cruiserweight Champion does not participate, he will be stripped of his title and suspended. #WWENXT
