Summer music festival Nest Fest has been canceled because four artists withdrew.

The festival was scheduled to take place on January 14 at the Tomoana Showgrounds in Hastings, Hawke’s Bay.

In a statement, Nest Fest said four of the performers — ACTION BRONSON, POND, Methyl Ethel and DeWalta — pulled out of the event at the last minute.

“Unfortunately, due to various reasons and circumstances beyond our control (family, injury and health), we have withdrawn four of our family performers from Nest Fest at the last minute,” the organizers said via Instagram.

“We are devastated by this.

“We’ve searched high and low to find suitable replacement acts, which has proved nearly impossible this late in the game.”

Organizers said the performers would “publicly discuss their withdrawals” in the coming days.

“We understand that this is a disappointment to our fans and artists who were still hoping to perform and to everyone who had traveled far and wide for this event.

“We apologize for the inconvenience…”

Nest Fest said all tickets would be refunded in the coming days.

Several other music festivals and concerts have been canceled this week due to the weather, including Juicy Fest in Tauranga, Summer Haze in Matakana and a concert by UB40, Jefferson Starship and Dragon in Tauranga.
