India will start preparations for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup by facing England and Australia in two warm-up matches before playing their first game in the flagship event in the United Arab Emirates and Oman. A total of 16 warm-up matches are scheduled before the Super12 stages. The warm-up matches are divided into two phases. In the first phase, the teams present in the first round will test their skills before qualifying. In the second phase, the teams that have already secured a place in the Super12 round will compete against each other. The second phase, in which Team India will be in action, will start on October 18 and end on October 20.
India’s first warm-up match against England will be played in Dubai on October 18 at 7:30 p.m. IST.
On October 20, India will play its second and final warm-up match against Australia at the same venue. The match is scheduled to start at 3:30 p.m. IST.

The ICC in its statement highlighted the fact that the 16 warm-up matches will be played behind closed doors.
“It is relevant to note that all matches in Abu Dhabi and Dubai will take place behind closed doors – no spectators will be allowed to attend,” read an excerpt from the press release.
India will start their campaign for the T20 World Cup with one of the biggest games of the tournament where they face rivals Pakistan in Dubai in a Phase 2 Super12 clash.
The team led by Virat Kohli will face New Zealand on October 31 and face Afghanistan on November 3.
India’s last two opponents will be determined after the first round (qualifying) matches of the renowned tournament.
