Talking Europe – ‘A suicide war against nature’: a closer look at Europe’s climate ambitions

Earlier this week, the United Nations General Assembly opened with a warning from the UN Secretary-General that we are in a “suicidal war against nature.” European Union leaders have made it clear that they want the bloc to become a climate champion. But given these words from Antonio Guterres, we wonder if that’s really the case. Our guest is German MEP Peter Liese, who is leading the intra-EU negotiations on the EU’s CO2 emissions trading system for the European Parliament.
