Amazon Prime Video India Originals official Aparna Purhohit went to a police station here on Tuesday to record her statement in relation to an FIR recorded against her and others on the alleged derogatory portrayal of Hindu deities in the Tandav web series.
“Purhoit has had her statements recorded at Hazratganj Police Station as directed by the court. Some questions have been asked and if necessary she will be called again. Investigation is ongoing in the web series case. Tandav, “Deputy Police Commissioner Somen Bara told PTI.
The Allahabad High Court had ordered no enforcement action against Purohit in the case earlier this month.
In January, an FIR was filed at the police station against Purohit, series director Tandav Ali Abbas, producer Himanshu Krishna Mehra, writer Gaurav Solanki and an unidentified person.
The nine-episode political thriller starring Bollywood A-listers Saif Ali Khan, Dimple Kapadia and Mohd Zeeshan Ayyub, began airing on the platform in January.
In Uttar Pradesh, FIRs have been registered against the spectacle in Greater Noida and Shahjahanpur as well, in addition to Lucknow.
