Tata Motors signs MoU with EC Wheels India; Delivery of 1,000 Xpres-T EVs


Tata Motors took a step towards adopting EVs in the mobility space and achieving the goal of sustainable transportation. Tata Motors teamed up with EC Wheels India Pvt. Ltd., an app-based city transportation service in Kolkata to deploy 1,000 Tata Xpres-T electric sedans for taxi transportation, making it the largest-ever order for an EV fleet in the region. Deliveries of the Tata Xpres-T electric sedans will start in phases.

In July 2021, Tata Motors launched the XPRES brand, exclusively for fleet customers, and the Xpres-T EV is the first vehicle under this brand. The Xpres-T electric sedan comes with 2 ranges: 213 km and 165 km (ARAI-certified range under test conditions). It contains a high energy density battery of 21.5 kWh and 16.5 kWh and can be recharged from 0-80 percent in 90 minutes and 110 minutes respectively using fast charging or can also be recharged in general from any 15 A plug point. which is readily available and convenient.
