The 9th edition of the Indo-Pak Peace 2021 Calendar will be launched almost today. Aaghaz-e-Dosti, an Indo-Pakistani friendship initiative led by young volunteers from India and Pakistan, launches this calendar every year.
Aaghaz-e-Dosti launches the calendar each year which features selected paintings by students from both sides of the border.
The cross-border initiative is a collection of paintings by schoolchildren from India and Pakistan, 6 on each side, on the theme of “Indo-Pakistan peace and friendship”.
Ravi Nitesh, Founder of Aaghaz-e-Dosti, says, “Previously, every year, we held separate launch events in India and Pakistan. However, due to the COVID-19 situation in both countries, we are taking all the necessary precautions. So we have decided to launch the virtual calendar this year. “
The launch of the calendar will be followed by a discussion or a “sharing of hopes for a peaceful and friendly coexistence”.
“A virtual launch of the calendar also gave us the opportunity to invite the audience and speakers from both countries together, which was a limit for physical launches in previous years due to visa issues,” acknowledged Raza Khan. , responsible for Pakistan, Aaghaz-e -Dosti.
The launch program will even contain an interaction between the successful students and the second students as part of their peace training actions.
The paintings come from various cities including Karachi, Lahore, Delhi, Hyderabad, Bengaluru as well as Tier 2/3 cities like Ludhiana, Phillaur, Phagwara, Nagpur, Koppal, Abbottabad, Paragon and Shahjamal.
