Receiving a life-saving grant of £ 448,580 from the Culture Recovery Fund, the scenic Riverside Dinner Theater reopens with classic Alan Ayckbourn comedy, followed by Ray Cooney’s Two into One and Top Hat musical by ‘Irving Berlin for Christmas. Shakespeare’s Globe: A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Twelfth Night, Romeo and Juliet

The Globe, which missed its summer season last year, is welcoming returning audiences – amid Covid-safe measures like having chairs in the yard instead of crushing crowds. Artistic Director Michelle Terry will play Viola in Twelfth Night, directed by Sean Holmes, while Ola Ince will direct Alfred Enoch and Rebekah Murrell in Romeo & Juliet.

Amélie, Criterion Theater

Joining Les Mis in the West End is another popular French musical. Amélie, based on the offbeat romantic comedy from 2001, sees the titular character improvise small acts of kindness and find her own chance at happiness through love. It aired at The Other Palace in 2019 and stars Olivier-nominated Audrey Brisson leading a cast of actors and musicians.
