The Chelsea star describes Tuchel’s methods which “make a difference”; shy about exit conversation

A Chelsea star linked to a departure from Stamford Bridge has spoken of variations between Frank Lampard and Thomas Tuchel which ‘make a difference’.

Chelsea have changed seasons since the appointment of the management of Thomas Tuchel. The Blues are fighting for trophies on two fronts and have climbed into the top four in the league.

Their Champions League round of 16 victory over La Liga leaders Atletico Madrid summed up the rebirth Tuchel oversaw.

One player who had a major impact on this tie was a versatile defender, Emerson Palmieri.

The 26-year-old had scored less than 600 minutes of action in a Blues jersey with Lampard at the helm.

Under TuchelHowever, the Italian international of Brazilian origin appeared with more regularity.

Speaking on his Champions League goal against Atletico which led to the famous scenes of Thiago Silva’s exuberant celebrations in the stands, Palmieri said Sports messaging (Going through Football Italia): “I was probably sent off just to waste a little time, but when I saw our players attacking I went into the open space thinking, ‘Will the ball come to me?’

“It was. It was a very special goal.

“I saw Thiago come down from the stands. It was a moment of pure happiness. I was on the other side of the pitch, but I heard Jorginho, Thiago and Mason Mount very happy for my goal. Thiago was screaming.

Regarding his lack of playing time under the former boss, Palmieri continued, “Managers have their preferences and we have to accept that.”

Tuchel’s impact at Stamford Bridge was immediate and Palmieri believes the Germans’ love of detail proved crucial.

“The first day Thomas arrived we saw how much he loves details,” he added.

“He loves showing videos, talking a lot, and focusing on minor things that can make a difference.”

Chelsea join race for England linked defender

Nikola Milenkovic, defender of Fiorentina

Meanwhile, Chelsea have joined the ever-growing list of suitors for Fiorentina defender Nikola Milenkovic, according to reports.

Milenkovic has established himself as one of the best defenders outside the Serie A elite in his time with Fiorentina. With his contract expiring in 2022, his current club could be forced to take advantage of him this summer. This could give him the opportunity to test himself at a bigger club.

The Premier League could be a potential destination for Milenkovic. He is admired by Tottenham, for example, but ties to Liverpool and Manchester United seem to have cooled.

He now has another contender in the form of Chelsea, however. According to Tuttomercatoweb, the Blues joined the race to sign him.

Mainly a center-back but also capable of covering as a right-back, Milenkovic has the potential to succeed in the Premier League. What else, it is believed that his preference is to join an English team.
