The highly anticipated sequel to ‘Zelda: Breath Of The Wild’ is due out next year

It’s been five years Breath of the Wild was released, but now it looks like the sequel is almost here and will be released in May next year.

called the Tears of the Kingdom, it seems to have airfields and the ability to traverse between them. The game engine also seems to be the same and seems to be a direct continuation of Breath of the Wild.

The air areas are also somewhat reminiscent of those in Twilight Princessalthough clearly comprehensive and in line with what we’ve already seen in games like Skyward Sword.

Other than that, we don’t really know much.

My only hope is that the too fragile weapons and other items in Breath of the Wild are a little firmer this time. Skyward Sword coped much better with the wear and tear mechanics, so it was a bit odd to have weapons falling to pieces after barely use.

It would also be great to see a return of good dungeons as well. The shrines in Breath of the Wild were nice, but too short and numerous, making them quite repetitive.

One thing that stands out in the new game’s logo is that the Master Sword is somehow damaged or transformed into something else. Hopefully we’ll learn more about that in the coming months.

Although I’m glad to know we still have a mainline Zelda game was on the way, I was hoping to see news about the Wii U remasters of Twilight Princess and Wind Waker get a Switch release.

After the success of Skyward Sword HDwhich was absolutely excellent I thought Nintendo would have followed with more classic Zelda remasters.

For now at least Tears of the Kingdom is finally going to happen and will be released on May 12th.
