The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom arrives on Nintendo Switch in May 2023
Although yesterday’s Nintendo Direct stream revealed a series of juicy trailers and gameplay footage, none were probably as juicy as the teaser before The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
Scheduled for release on May 12, 2023the exclusive Switch sequel to 2017 Breath of the Wild will build on the beautiful version of Hyrule set up by its predecessor, and also on a much larger scale. As seen in the trailer, players will be able to climb rock walls, explore temples that appear to float in mid-air, and even free fall from the temples accompanied by a new glider.
Of course, it’s not yet known exactly what this chapter of Link’s adventures will contain, but at this point fans are probably just happy to know that the game is flowing smoothly. After all, it’s been a solid three years Tears of the Kingdom was first teased at E3 2019’s Nintendo Direct, so for lack of better wording, it’s about time something new popped up.
