Tiger King season 2 teaser announces release date for next chapter in wild saga

Netflix has announced the release date for the second season of its critically acclaimed Tiger King show.

The streaming service has released a trailer in anticipation of the show’s second effort which will be released on November 17.

The trailer showed a number of clips from the first season of the critically acclaimed series, which focused on Joe Exotic, a fat cat collector who was convicted of hiring two men to murder a rival and a certain number of crimes against animals.

Some of those clips included Exotic, whose birth name is Joseph Allen Schreibvogel, detonating objects on his property as well as the TV star during a video conference from prison.

Round 2: Netflix announced that Tiger King season two will be released on the streaming platform on November 17th

The synopsis for the upcoming season reads: “Global hit Tiger King, which drew 64 million homes in the first four weeks after its March 2020 premiere, will return to Netflix for more madness and mayhem. ”

The docuseries will bring back the directing team of Eric Goode and Rebecca Chaiklin who worked on the first series Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness.

The original series also documented the feud between big cat enthusiasts Joe Exotic and Carole Baskin.

Baskin has always been a cat lover and was interested in saving them from a young age. She drew media attention to the plight of captive big cats, like the ones Exotic had in their zoo, to the media and to several other national and international programs.

The feud then took a dark turn when the polygamist, country singer, former gubernatorial candidate and, most importantly, zoo owner with a mule was arrested for planning a murder for account involving Baskin.

Netflix also shared footage from the highly anticipated docuseries in a preview teasing the streamer’s upcoming True Crime feature list earlier this week.

It all started with a hand stretched out over a statue with a wreath of flowers much like Carole Baskin’s to grab a sheet before moving on to influencers posing with baby tigers.

It then shows Baskin going to court in a leopard print blouse before moving on to a notice board that read “Who murdered Don Lewis?” referencing Baskin’s ex-husband who founded Big Cat Rescue and disappeared as mystery was a major plot point in the original docuseries.

Exotic’s former business partner, Jeff Lowe, was then shown speaking with great enthusiasm before moving on to heavily armed law enforcement.

Next, a private jet with Joe Exotic’s face on the front was shown closing the cabin door before ending with the ‘Tiger King’ himself laughing on a video call from the prison.

The reveal sheet then shows an epic painting of Exotic behind the statue depicting Baskin.
