Popular media figure Toke Makinwa has revealed that she has tested positive for COVID-19.
Toke in a post on her Instagram page said she tested positive two weeks ago and her experience with the deadly disease was not great.
The fashion enthusiast, while informing Nigerians that the disease is real, noted that while she has not yet fully recovered, she hopes the worst days are over.
She wrote: “I’ve been missing out in combat for a bit, the last two weeks of my life have been pretty tough to deal with. I tested positive for COVID-19 and my experience was not great (I mean it’s Covid), spinning this Vlog was a lot because I am not 100% yet, but I hope that the worst days are behind me.
“Covid these are real guys, there’s a second wave of viruses in town and it’s spreading really fast. I can’t say for sure where I caught it, but the worst part for me was contact tracing. Having to call the people I’ve been exposed to, tell them to quarantine and find the people they’ve been exposed to as well, it’s all a mess. I share my experience on the Vlog today which is late I know but please be patient with me the road to recovery is long I am tired all the time I have some memory loss and I’m trying to find out what day is what.
“It doesn’t help that Nigeria itself went through something during this time as well. Health is real wealth guys, be careful there. My birthday is less than a week away, I just wanna be 100 again. Covid is real, wear your mask and always wash your hands. “
