Tottenham defender Joachim Andersen has said he wants to return to the Premier League last season after enjoying his time with Fulham.
The Frenchman moved to Craven Cottage from Lille in October to fill a crucial defensive hole for the manager Scott Parker. Despite a shaky start, he has asserted himself perfectly throughout the season. In fact, Fulham was not far from standing, with 13 draws proving crucial in their failure to avoid the fall.
Additionally, five of those dead ends ended 0-0. Andersen went on to play a pivotal role in keeping the linens clean and impressed overall.
Further on, however, the Cottagers were unable to complete their chances of securing, for example, a 1-0 victory in those games.
Andersen has proven his worth in his own role, however, and insists he would like to return to the England top flight. Center-back is currently finalizing preparations for Denmark Euro 2020 countryside.
“I am focusing on the euro and after that I will study my options and make my decision,” said the 25-year-old. 90min.
“I played well in the Premier League so obviously I think it’s a league for me. I really see myself staying there.
“To have such a good season in the Premier League and to show my qualities is a dream. It’s the best championship in the world.
Indeed, Andersen made an immediate impression at Fulham; after just three matches he took the captain’s armband and consequently brought his team together in 17 Premier League games.
He added during his rapid climb: “I admit that I was surprised to be appointed captain shortly after my arrival.
“It’s very rare and it makes me very proud. I have to thank coach Scott Parker and all the staff who immediately trusted me.
“This season we played very well, attacking and attractive football, but we sinned in the end. I really enjoyed playing on this team. In my opinion, we did not deserve to be relegated.
