He explained that the “Licensing Department” completed 16,000 transactions during the first half of 2022, compared to 13,000 transactions during the same period in 2021, with a growth rate of 22%, while the Civil Engineering Department issued 12,129 permits, carried out 19,034 inspection tours, and 270 training courses within the program. Accreditation with a total of 2,209 participants, while the Environment, Health and Safety Department completed 7,000 permits and certificates in various disciplines in the department, and 13,000 no-objection certificates for port and maritime transport operations.

He explained that the Department of Planning and Development – Trakhees acts as an integrated window to provide commercial and engineering licensing services within the special development zones and free zones of the Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation, in addition to fulfilling the requirements of environmental, health and safety management systems by providing a series of services aimed at achieving environmental sustainability and ensuring their quality within these areas.
He pointed to the implementation of a number of projects with the aim of consolidating Dubai’s unique position in the field of business, foremost of which is the electronic link with the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs – Phase II, and the electronic link with the Dubai Insurance Company (the employee benefits insurance program), as well as projects that have already been implemented. He pointed out that 5,295 inspection tours were carried out within the scope of retail facilities in their special development areas during the first half of 2022, which resulted in the issuance of 95 violations in those areas, through the smart inspection system for facilities, companies and individuals, which reduces human errors and speeds up the issuance of the inspection report and archiving. Violations, in addition to the environmental inspection, which amounted to 7,831 rounds, with the aim of monitoring and inspection to ensure the quality of air, soil, groundwater and marine, in an effort to ensure that there are no causes of environmental pollution.
